A large, vigorous late bloomer with red-purple buds and single red-purple flowers.  Fragrant.  Introduced by Kent Millham of Highland Botanical Park in Rochester NY.  Not widely available commercially.  Syringa komarowii subsp. 'Beautiful Susan'. Zones 3-7.
